As a former Senior Banker and Global CEO for one of the largest listed financial firms of Europe, our client was raising their third private equity fund after successful closing of two of their earlier funds and they needed access to a wider range of lenders to achieve their financial goals.
/ The challenge
After leaving the banking and financial industry, our client launched two private equity funds to invest in private financial companies based in Europe and USA. Despite being the General Partner of these funds, they wanted to personally invest a large sum of money in the Limited Partner vehicle when they were raising the third fund, which was the largest of the three funds. Their goal was to do this through a loan secured against future income of the General Partner, which included management fees and the carry. However, those whom they had existing banking relationships with were not able to offer this type of unique lending solution.
/ Our solution
Knowing that Capital Code has access to a number of lenders including American, European, Middle Eastern, and Asian banks and institutions, the client gave us the mandate to help them raise this loan/capital. By using our expertise to understand the client’s requirements, we were able to leverage our extensive international banking network to get the loan and the lending terms which the client was looking for.
/ The result
By using our wide network and financial expertise, we were able to negotiate the type and the amount of loan the client was seeking, allowing him to invest alongside the Limited Partners of the third fund and without having to use their own savings.
